LinkedIn Is the Wine Industry’s Quiet Trade Show. Is Your Winery Showing Up?
In the wine business, presence matters. We show up for tastings, walk vineyards, meet buyers, pour samples, and have informed conversations. We know relationships are built through visibility, consistency, and credibility. LinkedIn is the digital extension of that same principle. It functions like a trade show floor that never closes. Buyers, distributors, importers, media, and potential partners are forming impressions there every day, whether a winery is actively participating or not. Most wineries maintain a company page. You share releases, awards, job postings, and announcements. All necessary.  But in today’s B2B wine landscape, credibility is built less by brands alone and more by the people behind them. People don't use social media to talk to brands; they use it to talk to humans.  Trust in the wine industry lives with leadership.  Buyers and journalists want to understand who is behind the winery and how they think about the issues shaping the busines

The Shopify Winery Stack Is Finally Complete
Five years ago, running a winery on Shopify meant duct-taping a lot of things together. Great for e-commerce. Okay for DTC. Difficult for wine clubs. Not really designed for tasting rooms. That's changed. The combination of Shopify's platform investments and a handful of wine-specific apps has created something genuinely new: a single operational stack that connects your tasting room, your wine club, your online store, and your loyalty program under one customer record. That convergence has real operational consequences — and it's why an increasing number of wineries are consolidating everything onto Shopify. Here's what's actually different. Your Card on File, Finally Done Right One very frustrating limitation of running a winery business on Shopify used to be simple: Shopify didn't let you vault a customer's payment card and charge it later for anything other than a subscription — not from your POS or your back office or sales team for one-tim

USDA Financial Assistance Available for Eligible Grape Growers
The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) is offering up to $1 billion of financial aid to American producers of certain specialty crops, including growers of wine grapes, through its new Assistance for Specialty Crop Farmers (ASCF) program. Per USDA’s recent press release, the goal of the ASCF program is to “help address market disruptions, elevated input costs, persistent inflation, and market losses from foreign competitors engaging in unfair trade practices that impede exports.” USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) is responsible for administering the ASCF program and will issue one-time bridge payments to qualifying farmers. To be eligible for an ASCF payment, specialty crop producers must meet the following requirements: Be actively engaged in farming; Have risk and interest in the eligible planted commodity; and Report 2025 planted acreage to FSA by 5 p.m. ET on March 13, 2026. ASCF payments will be calculated based on reported 2025 planted acres, and commo

What Actually Changes When a Washington Winery Moves to Shopify POS?
When a Washington winery transitions to Shopify POS, the visible experience in the tasting room doesn’t change dramatically. Guests are still welcomed. Wine is still poured. Bottles are still sold.  What changes is operational structure.  For many wineries in WA, POS, ecommerce, wine club management, and event sales have evolved independently over time. The result is often fragmented inventory, duplicate reporting, manual discount adjustments, and reconciliation across multiple systems.  A unified POS and ecommerce platform shifts that dynamic.  Inventory lives in one environment. Online and in-person sales draw from the same pool. Wine club profiles are accessible at checkout. Member discounts apply automatically. Reporting reflects consolidated channel data instead of stitched-together exports.  The impact isn’t cosmetic, it’s operational clarity.  In practical terms, wineries typically see:  Reduced inventory discrepancies&n
