Allen Land Design Offers: Replanting the Future
Reimagining Vineyards. Revitalizing Revenue. Reconnecting with Community.  For over 40 years, Allen Land Design has helped shape the beauty and function of Northern California’s iconic wine country. We’ve built bocce courts, tasting patios, and elegant garden  landscapes. But today, every winery has these—and still, many are struggling.  It’s time for something new.  Introducing: “Beyond the Vines” – A New Vision for Wine Country  We are partnering with forward-thinking wineries ready to transform unused or underperforming vineyard blocks (5–25 acres) into innovative, revenue-generating, and community-driven destinations.  Instead of competing with 5–7 tastings in a day, offer your guests a 2–3 hour immersive experience that blends agriculture, art, technology, food, and connection.  What’s Growing Next? (Hint: It’s not just grapes)  Before the grape boom, Sonoma and Napa counties grew:  • Grains (wheat, barley) – Perfect for

Online Reservation Systems vs. Built-In Booking Features on Winery Websites — What Should You Choose?
In today’s wine industry, tasting room reservations are not just operational tools — they are strategic levers. According to the 2025 SVB State of the Wine Industry Report, tasting room visitation remains one of the most powerful drivers of Wine Club acquisition and the second-largest contributor to direct-to-consumer (DTC) revenue, following wine sales themselves. Yet, as consumer visitation patterns evolve, how wineries manage reservations — whether through third-party platforms or built-in tools — has become a critical decision. The right choice can impact everything from guest satisfaction and Wine Club conversion to brand control and long-term revenue growth. Let’s explore the two primary approaches wineries use today:     •    External reservation platforms (e.g., Tock)     •    Built-in reservation flows on the winery’s own website External Reservation Systems: Convenience with Constraints

The Future of In-Person Service: Why Wineries Need a Mobile POS
Great wine brings people to your winery. Great service brings them back. And today, nothing elevates service like a Point-of-Sale (POS) that lets you meet guests anywhere, from the vineyard lawn to a bustling festival. In today’s DTC landscape, the tasting room is no longer the only in-person touchpoint that matters. Wineries are hosting vineyard tours, pouring at festivals, working farmers’ markets, and even running golf-cart service to meet guests where they are. But here’s the problem: too many wineries are stuck with outdated point-of-sale systems that can’t keep up. If your team is tethered to a counter or juggling multiple systems, you’re not just slowing down service—you’re losing sales, missing data, and eroding customer trust. The solution? A mobile POS for wineries that makes every interaction seamless, personal, and connected. Why Flexibility Matters in Winery Service Hospitality is the heartbeat of any winery. Guests expect warm, pe

Why Less Visitation to Wine Country is Everyone's Problem
Why Less Visitation to Wine Country is Everyone's Problem Wineries with tasting rooms know all too well that foot traffic is shrinking. But it was our clients without a hospitality arm who got us thinking: how important is the on-site channel to the wine industry as a whole? Maybe we’re just evolving. After all, people buy everything—from cars to carrots—online these days. Isn’t it natural for wine to follow suit? We pulled on that thread, and it turns out the decline in wine country tourism is a bigger issue than it first appears. What is the problem? When we look at why wine sales are down, we can break it into three core factors: Frequency Volume Abstinence  And one of those clearly dominates. Frequency—how often someone chooses wine—is the elephant in the room. It accounts for a whopping 65% of the volume decline. Simply put, fewer people are reaching for wine in their daily lives. Next up is volume, responsible for about 19% of the d

The Ultimate Guide to Holiday Winery Marketing: Unlock Big Wins With This 90-Day Q3 Sprint
Everywhere you look right now—Hallmark Channel, Netflix, social media—it’s Christmas in July. And while most people are watching cozy movies and pretending it’s snowing outside, here’s a better question for wineries: Are you ready for your holiday season? October, November, and December (OND) are your biggest sales months of the year. Holiday winery marketing doesn’t start in October—it starts now. They’re sprinting through Q3—right now—while everyone else is still daydreaming about hot cocoa and watching Christmas movies… you’ve got rosé in your glass and wine bundles to plan. 1. Clean Up Your Data — Because Bad Data Costs You Money This isn’t just about removing bounced emails. Bad data quietly drains OND revenue by blocking you from segmenting, targeting, or even reaching your customers. Your Move: Export your full email list (now, not later). Use ChatGPT to help spot typos like gmaii.com in

In 2025, the most successful wineries are leaning into flexibility, clear communication, and smarter logistics to keep orders flowing and customers happy. 🔄 Give Customers Control Let your customers decide when and how they receive their wine. Integrate tools that allow post-purchase adjustments, like scheduling a fall delivery or choosing a local picku

Seasonal Wine Club Promotions: How to Plan Your Campaigns Using Your Website
Seasonality isn’t just about weather; it’s about mindset. Your customers’ buying habits shift with the seasons, and the wineries that understand how to tap into those rhythms are the ones that thrive. From cozy winter nights to sun-soaked summer afternoons, each season offers unique opportunities to connect with your audience, tell your story, and drive wine club sign-ups. But here’s the truth: seasonal promotions don’t work if they’re slapped together at the last minute. A well-planned campaign, anchored by your website and supported by social media and paid media, can turn slow months into sales booms and casual visitors into loyal club members. The Seasons Are Already Telling a Story Each season comes with its own energy, its own needs, and its own story. Your job is to align your campaigns with those rhythms, tapping into the emotions and experiences your customers are already craving. Winter: Comfort, warmth, and togetherness. Think bold reds,
