As we enter Fall, our off-season presents the opportunity for our nursery to reflect, recharge, and prepare for the coming year. To ensure a successful start, here are just a few of the essential preparations that take place when we aren’t producing vines. These measures are designed to ensure that we are fully equipped for the new season and to maintain our commitment to providing the healthiest vines for our partners.  Farming Virus Sampling We test over 120k vines each year to ensure Sunridge vines have well over a 99% statistical confidence of being virus free. No other nursery comes close to this level of testing. Dropping Fruit By removing the vine clusters from our scion mother blocks, and channeling all the vine’s energy into growth, we ensure the production of robust canes for optimal wood harvesting.  Replants & Increase Blocks I

Fulvio Lavina & Giuseppe Billella's book "Something from Nothing: The Emergence of Canelli's Enological Industry" details the development of the famous wine industry in Canelli. ⚙️ The continuous growth of the industry created a need for better winemaking and bottling equipment, which led to the establishment of advanced equipment and machinery producers. 🍇 It is our mission to educate aspiring winemakers about the historical importance of automated machinery in the wine industry. Students now have access to the book and can learn more today!

Fish Friendly Farming Recognizes Area Winegrape Growers Who Have Been Certified for at Least 20 Years
More Than 220,000 Acres in California are Enrolled in FFF Program  NAPA, Calif. (November 25, 2024) – Thirty-two winegrape growers and wineries from Sonoma, Napa and Mendocino counties have been recognized with the Founders’ Award from the Fish Friendly Farming Certification program for achieving and maintaining certification for more than 20 years. In 1999, the Fish Friendly Farming Certification program was created to protect and enhance the Russian River watershed in Sonoma County. Soon, it was expanded with a specific program tailored for Napa County and other regions.
