With a life expectancy of one to two decades, a palletizer built today must be engineered with machine control and layer configuration software, electro-mechanical parts, sensors, robots (for some applications), and other components that will perform efficiently and reliably as the machine ages. Big changes are afoot in the halls of government. TTB has been reconsidering its labeling and advertising regulations for the last four years, and finally released a totally revamped version of the regulations governing labeling and advertising of distilled spirits (Part 5) earlier this year. In response to comments from the industry and the public, TTB reworked the regs to simplify and clarify legal standards, incorporate previously uncodified policies, and address new issues. The new Part 5 is also designed to be easier to understand and easier to navigate. We're happy to announce that the new Part 5 is now accessible to subscribers on The Digest website. We rebuilt Part 5 to make the updated regs easy to find and reference. We also made many smaller changes to Part 4, the regulations governing wine; TTB is still working on a major revamp of the wine regs.
