How the Song of Champagne Became a Tangible Label
Great Champagne tells its story long before the cork is popped. With the Mélodie Frossard label, an abstract idea rooted in anticipation, rhythm and movement was transformed into a tangible expression of craftsmanship. The result is a Champagne label that translates inspiration into material, structure and embellishment through close collaboration between design and production. At the heart of the concept lies the idea of Champagne as a silent melody. Not heard, but seen. Not tasted, but anticipated. The perlage becomes a vertical score, each bubble a note rising patiently to the surface. This poetic starting point shaped every design decision that followed. Translating Inspiration into Design The creative concept was developed by Atelier Design, an Italy-based studio specialising in label design for high-end beverages. For founder Luca Morandini, the label is more than decoration. “A label is the first and most powerful message of a product. It must already com

A Design That Strikes the Heart – Promotional Wine Labels for Packaging Première Milan
A “generic” label design might sound uninspired at first – but not when it comes from the hands of Caroline Becker, Head of Prepress & Marketing at CCL Label Trittenheim, where the labels were also brought to life. The concept perfectly balances creativity, technical finesse and visual storytelling.  These wine labels bring together romantic symbolism and modern branding through the depiction of an angel with a bow and arrow – a clear nod to Cupid, the classical figure of love and attraction. In this context, the angel becomes a playful metaphor: just as Cupid’s arrow makes hearts fall in love, this label aims to make consumers fall in love – first with the label and then with the product. (Read more about the power of labels in article “Choosing Wine is an Emotional Decision“!) Visually, the angel adds a sense of timeless elegance, while the bow and arrow bring movement and impact, reinforcing the emotio

Rotkäppchen 1856 – An Extraordinary Label Pushing Boundaries
The Rotkäppchen 1856 is a special sparkling wine and homage to the founders: the brothers Moritz and Julius Kloss and their friend Carl Foerster. Three friends, one vision and a little bit of courage – the rest is history. Of course, such a product needs an extraordinary label. Rotkäppchen-Mumm’s goal was to put a spotlight on the crown to achieve an absolutely eye-catching label! To make sure it really stands out, no paper and no foil should be in its background. In order to achieve this the die-cut needed to be super precise. To realise the vision of the customer CCL Label Trittenheim has developed a special technique that ensures 100% precision, enabling the intricate die-cut of elements less than a millimeter wide. And thus, pushed the boundaries of what is possible! No wonder the label won the Innovation Award at this years’ Pack & Spirit in Reims with an unanimous vote from the jury! https://ccllabel.com/news/rotkappchen-1856/

CCL Launches EcoFloat WHITE Shrink Sleeves for Light Sensitive Products
Millions of bottles can now be recycled in a closed loop! Toronto, Canada – CCL Label, a global leader in specialty label, security and packaging solutions, has introduced a new version of its proven EcoFloat low-density polyolefin sleeve material: EcoFloat® WHITE. “EcoFloat WHITE will enable greater recyclability for dairy packaging and other products that are light sensitive – we expect it to be a game changer. The dairy industry often uses HDPE bottles for bottles containing yoghurt and probiotic drinks or similar products. However, these white HDPE bottles are rarely recycled back into food grade applications for a number of reasons, including strict food contact regulations – so the bottles leave the packaging loop,” says Guenther Birkner, member of the management team at CCL. “We have seen a big trend in the Food and Beverage but also Home and Personal care industries to move from HDPE to PET, which works well in terms of recycled cont
