Napa County Releases Draft Regional Climate Action and Adaptation Plan, Comments Due September 30, 2025
A draft Napa County Regional Climate Action and Adaptation Plan (RCAAP) has been released for public comment. The draft and related documents can be found at https://climateactionnapa.konveio.com/  Comments are due by September 30, 2025. This draft has been in development for many years, and covers the County of Napa, the Cities of American Canyon, Calistoga, Napa, and St. Helena, and the Town of Yountville. It includes Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emission reduction targets of up to 85 percent by 2045. At the same time, it aims to achieve “carbon neutrality” by 2045, primarily by reforestation of burned areas of the County to promote natural carbon sequestration and removing GHGs from the atmosphere. The draft discusses 21 GHG reduction strategies with 46 GHG reduction measures across seven emissions sectors, (though the draft only quantifies the impact of 17 of those measures). Napanook Barrel Storage and Archive Building Yountville, California Located in Yountville, the Dominus Estate Napanook Barrel Storage and Archive project entailed new construction and expansion to an existing winery facility.  The 6,800sf project applied a design-build delivery approach to expedite design and permit submittal as well as reduce overall project costs.  Comprising a custom rain screen exterior and unique architectural detailing, the two-story building is an elegant, functional, and economical pre-engineered, insulated metal building. 2024 Harvest Challenge Wine Competition Announces Winners
Two K Farms Cidery and Winery 2022 Bubbly Riesling Takes Top Honors November 15, 2024 — Winners have been announced in the 2024 Harvest Challenge Wine Competition. After two spirited days of judging,Two K Farms Cidery and Winery 2022 Bubbly Riesling took the top prize. It was also awarded Best of Show Sparkling Wine. Coming in at 97 points, judges praised the wine for its “Mouth watering citrus and honeysuckle”; “Lingering tropical finish”; and “Perfect bubbles.” They also called it “Well balanced.” With a record number of entries from across the globe, the Harvest Challenge bases judging on a group of vineyards (or even vines) from the same region, belonging to a specific appellation and sharing the same type of soil, weather conditions and grapes that combine to give personality to the wine. In other competitions, terroir is ignored. At the Harvest Challenge, judges taste wines alongside other wines of the same appellation. W

The Yountville Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Chandon and the Tasting Rooms and Wineries throughout Yountville are thrilled to bring back Taste of Yountville. Taste of Yountville will highlight delicious wines crafted by our Yountville Tasting Rooms and Wineries. This intimate event is limited to 250 guests. Each winery will be pouring a red and white wine from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. The VIP Reception, will take place from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. before the event opens for General Admission ticket holders. At the VIP Reception you will have access to one additional library wine from each Tasting Room or Winery. The Chandon Culinary Team will be showcasing their skills with Farm to Table bites. This event will take place outside at the welcoming Chandon Gardens. Should weather occur, this event will be moved indoors.
