Your Vineyard Has Secrets - Here's How to Find Them
Every vineyard tells a story, but some chapters aren’t easy to read. Hidden beneath the surface—or buried in old records—are secrets that can affect your land’s value, your ability to develop, or even your next harvest. Whether you inherited your vineyard, bought it as-is, or have managed it for years, uncovering these hidden details is crucial. That’s where Ray Carlson & Associates steps in, combining decades of experience with cutting-edge technology and deep historical research to reveal what your vineyard isn’t telling you. What Kinds of Secrets Are We Talking About? Unrecorded Easements: Access rights or utility corridors that don’t appear in your current deed but can limit how you use your land. You’re Changing Lives—Read the 2025 Impact Report
We’re proud to share the third annual Juan Nevarez Memorial Scholarship Impact Report! Since 2015, your support has helped us invest over $436,000 in college scholarships for the children of California’s vineyard and winery workers. These students are breaking new ground—98% are the first in their families to attend college. The road isn’t easy. Three out of four first-generation college students don’t graduate. Many face challenges like limited guidance, financial pressure, and the emotional weight of leaving family behind. That’s why this scholarship does more than cover tuition—it also provides mentorship, helping students stay on track and build a future rooted in service and leadership. Take a look at what we accomplished together last year! ¡También disponible en español! Thank you for your continued support.

Wine Data Literacy: Is This Our Most Important Skillset for the Future?
We first wrote about the phrase "data literacy" a few years ago, in 2021, to announce our creative partnership with Valerie Logan and The Data Lodge. The phrase has picked up currency since then, and you may have heard it dropped into conversations particularly about AI. I've come to believe that data literacy is one of the most important skillsets that the wine industry can adopt, as we navigate the rapidly changing landscape of technology and data analytics. I'll share more about Enolytics' efforts on this front soon, including a widely available course dedicated to wine data literacy. In the meantime, let me ask you a few questions. Do you consider yourself "data literate"? Do you use data regularly in your role in the wine world? What would you like to know more about, when it comes to data? I'd sincerely like to know your answers to these questions. It's become all the more important since that first Enolytics 101 on the topic back i

Sipping Beyond Tradition The Rise of Alternative Beverages in Wine Tasting Rooms
In the ever-evolving world of wine, tasting rooms have long been sacred spaces for sampling vintages and educating consumers about winemaking. But recently, the definition of what belongs in a tasting room has expanded beyond the conventional pour. Enter the world of alternative beverages—non-alcoholic wines, wine-based cocktails like Frosé, and low-alcohol spritzers. These trends are carving out significant space, appealing to younger generations, health-conscious consumers, and a broader range of visitors. The rise of alternative beverages in tasting rooms isn’t just a fleeting fad—it’s a response to shifting consumer preferences and lifestyle trends. The adaptability of tasting rooms to these new offerings is a testament to the industry’s resilience. The question now isn’t whether tasting rooms should adapt, but how they can complement the core identity of wine while capturing the attention of a broader audience. Changing Consumer Preferen
