Finally, a Tomorrow-Proof Chiller
An Introduction to Propane, A Natural Refrigerant with Near-Zero GWP by Paul Johnson, G&D’s Director of Technology and R&D The refrigeration industry has been turned on its head recently with new and upcoming  refrigerant regulations. For the last thirty years, we’ve navigated the tightening of environmental  regulations – first focused on reducing a refrigerant’s ozone depletion potential (ODP); and now  focused on reducing the refrigerant’s global warming potential (GWP). This constant  progression, incrementally reducing the impact our chillers may have on the environment if a  leak were to occur, has pushed our industry to improve the technology we use, and lessen our  environmental impact.  Twenty years ago, when we were in the process of moving away from the old industry standard,  R22, we tried to predict which refrigerant would ultimately win out. Eastern Viticulture and Enology Forum- March 22
This monthly webinar series for Eastern growers and winemakers was launched in the Fall of 2019 and continued until April 2021. Organized by researchers at Cornell AgriTech, Virginia Tech Extension, and Penn State Extension, these webinars brought together university researchers, grape growers and winemakers across the country, and the decision was made for staff at the three universities to hold a similar Forum series in 2022. The webinars will cover the latest in research results in viticulture and enology and focus on concepts that underlie the practical aspects of growing grapes and making wine, and they are open to grape growers and winemakers wherever they are located.  The schedule for the remaining six webinars and recordings of previous webinars can be found at: https://blogs.cornell.edu/grapes/home/eastern-viticulture-and-enology-forum where a link connects to the 2021-2022 schedule of the webinars and the unique registration link for each of those webinars.  The f
