The Beginning 1982 was a remarkable year: Michael Jackson released the album Thriller, Steven Spielberg's blockbuster E.T. was shown in the cinemas, the first Commodore 64 was launched – and Anton Paar founded its first sales subsidiary in Great Britain. From the early 1970s, Anton Paar products were distributed in the United Kingdom by Stanton Redcroft Ltd. In 1982, Sales Manager Bryan Leslie Treherne and brothers Kevin and Paul Jiggens, as well as Mike Stevens, decided to break new ground. After a visit of then Anton Paar CEO Ulrich Santner and his daughter Barbara, the decision was made to establish the first sales subsidiary in London. On January 6, 1982, Paar Scientific Ltd. finally started in a small office in Raynes Park near Wimbledon in South London. It was a small store located between a Chinese take-away and a tile store. Michael David Winery: History in a Bottle
Michael David is more than just a winery; it’s part of the history and culture of Lodi, California. The Phillips family has been farming the land there since the 1850s and cultivating wine grapes since the 20th century. Winery founders Michael and David Phillips are fifth-generation grape growers who have raised their families on their Lodi vineyard. Michael David Winery is located in Lodi, California. MDW was founded by brothers Michael and David Phillips, 6th generation grape growers whose family have been farming the soil in the Lodi AVA since the 1850's. Michael David Winery uses Pulsair to manage red fermenting grape caps during primary fermentation in multiple fermentation tanks. The wine cap Pulsair air mixing process works by sequentially pulsing in large bursts of compressed air into the juice below the cap. The rising bubbles push and pull the juice up through and over the top of the cap to completely homogenize and mix the floating grape cap. Wine punch-downs and wine pump-overs may be used alongside Pulsair during fermentation to create and craft the best wines possible.
Michael David Winery also uses the same Pulsair air mixing equipment to accelerate the draining and devatting of the red wine and grape skins after primary fermentation is over.

Tying season is here and with it the ubiquitous green tape that will soon be littering the ground of many a vineyard. Vineyard managers often don't realize that there is an easy and incredibly cost-effective solution already available. So here are our top 3 reasons you should join the 213 other vineyards (just in the USA!) that have already ditched their green tape: Increased Speed. Triple your tying speed with Infaco's electric tying machine. Lower Labor Costs. It's simple: When you tie 3x faster, your labor costs 3x less. Environmentally Friendly. Infaco's tie wire bio-degrades which means it's better for the environment and bonus: you won't waste labor time cleaning it up! But don't take our word for it - listen to Matt Phillips explain it himself in this video below. When you're ready to lower your labor costs, shop our tying machines online or if you're considering 3 or more machines, call us for special price breaks at 1-800-425-8809.
