Why Choose Screen Printed “Paper” Labels?
If you love the look of a classic paper wine label — soft, tactile, warm in your hands — but wish bottles could weather shipping, moisture, ice, and handling without cracking, smudging, or peeling, you’ll want to see how that “paper look” is being reimagined. At Bergin Screen Printing and Etching we’ve found a way. B screen printing directly onto glass, we recreate the matte, textured elegance of paper but make it hold up through the journey from cellar to table.  It’s more than just practicality. By layering inks and textures directly on glass, we build design freedom and durability into the bottle. Details stay sharp, colors stay true, and the experience remains craft‑driven and refined. Whether your brand leans traditional or modern, relies on subtlety or seeks shelf‑presence, this approach offers both aesthetic comfort and functional strength.  Imagine wine bottles that feel familiar as old‑world labels but perform like modern

Award-Winning Packaging: Cambium Cider by Town Hall Brands
We’re thrilled to share that our packaging refresh for Cambium Cider has been awarded a silver medal in the 2025 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition, a testament to the power of design in storytelling. When Cambium Cider, a generational family orchard in Vernon, BC, approached us for a rebrand, they wanted packaging that reflected their heritage and connection to the land. Our design journey started with a focus on their story: the orchard’s three generations of growth and the natural beauty of apple tree rings, which symbolize time, growth, and sustainability. Here’s how we brought this vision to life: 1️⃣ Custom Watercolor Art: Each label features hand-painted tree rings created by our lead designer, Marina. Watercolor was chosen for its transparent, layered quality, which mirrors the natural layers found in trees. These rings celebrate the cambium layer, a vital part of a tree’s growth and a fitting metaphor for Cambium’s legacy. 2️⃣ T

Let's dive into the intricate artistry of designing wine bottle labels that seamlessly integrate both paper label and screen print elements. Alternative Packaging Solutions: When Is It Best to Screen Print or Etch Your Wine Labels?
Husic Vineyards came to us originally looking to etch their existing paper label onto large format bottles. The paper label features a painting of the property, the names of their children, along with the two iconic palm trees, hence the name Estate Dos Palmas. Needless to say, it’s very detailed. When dealing with paper labeling, large format labels tend to be tricky due to low quantities and limitations in number of colors, cost, and application. This is where custom etching really shines as it is designed to compliment existing labels in any medium as a large format bottle decoration solution. Due to the large size of their paper label and continued trouble with application during bottling, Husic was motivated to consider screen printing their 750ml packages as well. Etching When recreating a label like this, a total redraw is needed to adapt the original artwork for etching. While the mechanical files existed for the paper label, it was necessary to recreate ou

Storytime: Design Challenges that led to Brand Refreshes
At Town Hall Brands, we have done many a brand refreshes. And the catalyst to why they happen is not always the same, but here are things to consider to determine if it’s time to tweak your look: Some producers, especially small ones, are anxious to get their wines to market, so they launch with a label that they think represents them. Then they hear from the market that something does or does not work or resonate, or the brand owner decides that the label no longer represents them. In these cases, they need to adjust to make sure that their package is more appropriate to who they are and what’s in the bottle.  We had a client with a large portfolio of wines introduced one by one in a wide variety of label faces, each with their own fonts and look, and this created brand confusion. The new branding needed to communicate a dignified timelessness, so the wines were streamlined into two separate tiers.  In another project, the client already had a tier system in plac
