Each Family Has Continuously Farmed Land for More than 100 Years The image of vibrant farms and rugged ranches set among Sonoma County’s beautiful landscapes has long been sought after by tourists, painters and photographers. The sheer beauty has always stood out, but, given that the area’s first vineyards date back to 1812, it is the region’s agrarian roots and family legacy that makes Sonoma County unique. Today, twenty-two local families, all winegrape growers, were recognized as the original members of the “Century Club” in honor of their continuously farming their family’s original land for more than one hundred years. Sonoma County Winegrowers created the Century Club to mark the unique legacies of farm families in the region and it will recognize new families with the honor as they hit the one-hundred-year mark in the years ahead. JUNE 28, 2024 – Winners have been announced in the 17th annual Women’s International Wine & Spirits Competition (IWWSC). The competition, which took place June 10-12 in Santa Rosa, Calif., was founded on the premise that the majority of wine purchased for home consumption is bought by women. The IWWSC judging panels consist entirely of professional women in the wine and spirits industries — winemakers, distillers, marketers, buyers, sommeliers, educators and journalists. “As always, the International Women’s Wine & Spirits Competition shined a spotlight on hundreds of deserving wines,” says Debra Del Fiorentino, owner of Wine Competitions Management & Production, which organizes and presents IWWSC. “And even though entry is open to all winemakers regardless of gender, I found it gratifying that six of this year’s sweepstakes wines were created by women. And our overall wine winner also was named Best Woman Winemaker

Daryl Siverly, Laboratory Supervisor - Martinelli Winery & Vineyards Before purchasing the SPICA, we ran all the enzymatics manually, which is horrible since it takes such a long time. We would get results at 4pm on a very busy crush day, when the winemakers require the results around 1:00pm or 12:00pm. Sometimes we would have to re-run samples due to human error or pipetting issues. Therefore, occasionally it would be 5:00pm before we had acceptable results. 2023 crush was the highest tonnage we've ever harvested, with SPICA we had results by 11:00am or 12:00pm. The winemakers were very happy because they had all their results quickly, so they knew what the next production movements would be in a timely manner. That in turn got the work orders quicker to the cellar crew. So, the entire production team was helped by SPICA’s efficiency, accuracy and repeatability. The winemakers are confident in SPICA’s numbers, especially when it pertains to e
