Wineries of Santa Clara Valley Launch New Website

Based on Vines OS Winery Solution

Plan Your Fall Passport Route With Ease, November 8  & 9

November 7, 2014, San Jose, CA — Vines OS, a comprehensive eCommerce winery solution built specifically for wineries, announces the launch of the Wineries of Santa Clara Valley wine association’s website, santaclarawines.com

Prior to its conversion to the new Vines OS platform, the previous website lacked both organization and flexibility. It was also difficult to change without resorting to a programmer. Further, it lacked the ability to conduct ecommerce of any kind.

Now, the Winery Association’s member wineries can add their own events directly to the site and make changes to their information easily at any time.  A new interactive map allows visitors to see hours of operation, along with driving directions to each member winery. It also provides detailed information on each winery, as well as background information on the region, making the site a one-stop shop for visitors to find out about all winery events in the region.

According to Greg Richtarek, President of the Wineries of Santa Clara Valley, and a co-engineer, along with Supervisor Mike Wasserman of the recently launched Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail, “The new website layout is more modern, elegant and completely editable by members. We no longer need to rely on a programmer to make the simplest changes. With the Vines OS architecture, navigation is much more intuitive and we were easily able to add a YouTube channel.  We are now working on a 'Plan your Visit' section to include restaurant, hotel and local park information. We’ll also be adding an ecommerce capability to purchase event tickets and commemorative Wine Trail items.”

Vines OS President, Jules Robbins, commented on the launch: “With this new website, the Santa Clara Valley Winegrowers Association can help all their members establish an online presence and leverage the newly designated Santa Clara Valley Wine Trail. Association members like Guglielmo and Fortino, who are Vines OS clients, already have this capability to easily update their own websites. The new Association site makes it possible for all the members to easily post their own information and events to a common url, where more visitors are likely to find and view them.”

Robbins notes that traffic to the new website has surged 230% from previous year, with 250% increase in visitors, and 300% increase in page views.

The Wineries of Santa Clara Valley are holding their annual Fall Passport this weekend, November 8 & 9, from 11 til 5 p.m. Visit the new website to view the participating wineries and to see a map to plan your route.

Google just dropped rankings of non-mobile sites. How's yours? Here's how to check.

Today’s uber-competitive online marketplace is being very clearly defined by its leaders—like Google. Recently, Google changed its search results practices to favor mobile-friendly websites.

What do these changes mean for your website? To begin with, it means those top rankings that your site has achieved prior to Google’s new practices will no longer be there for you, unless your site is optimized for mobile viewing and functionality.

It also means that the method in which your customers found you yesterday may not work today.

WebCraft, the proprietary developers of the Vines OS platform for wineries, can help.

Being mobile-friendly is much more than existing passively on the Web. Mobile-friendly websites offer quick access from any device, top search results visibility, and intuitively-designed calls to action.

The importance of making sure your website is aligned with Google’s newly revamped search results algorithms is discussed in this recent Bloomberg article, Google Opens Door to Mobilegeddon by Changing Search Results.

Find out this moment how your current website stacks up. Use Google’s mobile friendly testing tool  to see if your site passes the test. If it doesn’t, call WebCraft today. We can re-design your current site to make it mobile-friendly and ensure that it continues to achieve optimum search results, anytime, anywhere, from any device.

Maximize your Holiday Sales. If you don’t believe, you won’t receive.

The holiday season is undoubtedly the most important time of the year for selling wine online. Shoppers are increasingly choosing online stores as a quick, convenient way to meet their holiday needs, and the VinesOS Holiday Sales Guide is here to get you started ahead of the competition and to ring up good cheer.

Offer Complimentary holiday shipping with a minimum order

Although free shipping isn’t free to you, it is a customer expectation. Surveys show that over 93% of customers placed an order based on free shipping. A UPS e-commerce study showed that over 50% of consumers even add more items to their carts when they must meet a minimum to receive free shipping. Incentivize membership with the benefit of including shipping only for members on qualifying orders.

Toast the holidays with bundled offers

Create a custom gift basket or collection with the VinesOS Gift Bundle feature. Give each bundle a festive name like 12 Nights of Wine Pack, World-Class Holiday Reds, and Fine Festive Whites. Make the packaging special by putting the wines in a wooden box with a fancy ribbon or adding seasonal bottle decor to single bottles or magnums.

Think outside the box and include wine charms, coasters, corkscrews, bottle openers, cocktail napkins, chocolate, cheese, crackers, merchandise, and whatever you can dream up to make it irresistible.

Be sure to take and publish several pictures of your bundles online. Customers prefer to choose from products with multiple photos of what is in the bundle.

Set a special price on the bundle for members or guests. The VinesOS cart will automatically create a special flat rate bundle price, customizable for club members or guests.

Promote the holiday bundles to club members as a gift by providing a special coupon via a quick email campaign and incorporating QR codes for one-click sales. Create hang tags in the tasting room or store to visualize the bundles as specials to your customers.

Gift a Club Membership

Encourage your loyal base to "Gift a Club" to the wine lovers on their Holiday list. Set up a "Holiday Gift Club" that expires after one year with two bottles shipped per quarter or 3, 6, or 9 bottles per shipment. Invite the gifted member to join permanently, with auto-generated reminders to join after the gift membership expires.

Offer a coupon thank you to anyone who gifts a club membership. And utilize QR codes again for a fast and uncomplicated sale in the tasting room.

Holiday gift messaging and wrap

Add holiday gift wrap as an upsell option and let your customers know you will write their gift message on a festive greeting card for holiday gift orders. This makes sending wine as a gift easy. To compensate for the gift messaging and wrapping, you can add a gift wrap fee or set it to be free over a minimum order value.

Offer Holiday Tastings & Private Holiday Events

Set up special holiday events, such as a tasting of wines that pair well with all the favorite holiday appetizers, entrees, and desserts, or a Merry Barrel Tasting for club members. Create future events that can be gifted for the holidays.

Offer private events to mingle safely with team members, family, and friends. Invite customers to pre-book an event or a special tasting and offer something extra for pre-booked events.

Use the VinesOS option to sell tickets for events or to promote your events without online reservations.

Event options include:

* Coupons to offer your most loyal club members, for example, a complimentary Holiday tasting

* A special reduced cost for members

* A limited number of free tickets for members, with a special discount for a certain number of additional tickets, also with the option to restrict how many tickets at that reduced cost

* Ability to restrict ticket purchase to members only or to members of a particular wine club

* Tasting reservations with table management, limited seating, and the option to include pre-ordered flights or food.

Remember to collect the names of all attendees when they purchase event tickets or reserve a wine-tasting online. You can easily export the RSVP list for streamlining guest management, sending special instructions, and facilitating check-in at the event.

Promote your special Holiday events to club members as a gift by providing a special coupon in a quick email campaign.

Create a Coupon for Your Most Loyal Customers, Club members, or for All Guests

Create a coupon code to give to your customers. You can set a discount off the purchase price – either as a dollar amount or as a percentage and set it for all items or just particular items.

Offer Gift Cards

Sell e-gift cards and plastic gift cards that you can mail out to all the customers who cannot decide what to give this year. Run a limited-time promotion for a sale on Gift Cards, and create a coupon for 5% off gift cards over $100. The e-Gift cards can make for great last-minute holiday gifts.

Promote specials for  Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Small Business Saturday, Super Saturday, Hanukkah, Three Kings Day, Winter Solstice, St. Lucia Day, St. Nicholas Day, Christmas, Kwanzaa, New Year

Offer discounts, bundles, and more for all the upcoming holiday sale days to consumers who want a head start on their holiday shopping. Meet their demand by offering special deals – both online and in-store – on key holiday gifts or case specials.

12 Days of Christmas Gift Marathon

During a 12-day holiday marketing event, you can surprise your customers each day with a new gift idea or special. It builds excitement and gives customers a reason to visit your shop daily. And once they're in-store or on your shop page, they may purchase even more.

Do something good: Offer a toy drive in your tasting room, wine bar, or store

Providing holiday toys for children is a struggle for many low-income families. Take action to start a holiday toy drive this year. You'll be surprised by the positive feedback from your customers and the appreciation of struggling families. Plus, the drive brings in new customers.

Partner with charities such as Toys for Tots, Goodwill, The Salvation Army, or Operation Homefront. Invite your community to drop off new, unwrapped gifts by a scheduled date so that you can get the donations to the charity on time to distribute them to families in need.

Use Page Pop-Up Promos on your VinesOS site and QR codes

Remember to use Pop-up Promos to alert your site visitors about any special promo you have going on, so as soon as customers come to your site, they will see your special offers and incentives. Also, be sure to send out emails to your newsletter subscribers and club members. The VinesOS Mailchimp integration makes it a cinch to filter for customer segments and automatically add them to your mail campaign.

Use Holiday templates for your Email Marketing

Send emails to your newsletter subscribers and club members well ahead of your shipping deadlines. Filter your customers based on their wine preferences and assign your holiday bundles through a targeted email or link to your holiday landing page using Holiday Mailchimp templates. The VinesOS Mailchimp integration makes it a cinch to filter for customer segments and automatically add them to your mail campaign.

Holiday Offer Landing Page

Next to emails, creating landing pages for your promotions and sales can be highly effective at helping further bump up your conversion rate for the holiday season.

How to stay atop your holiday sales

Decide which holidays you want to promote. Prepare for key dates with a holiday planning calendar.

If this is your first time doing a major holiday promotion, we suggest choosing two or three to tackle — such as Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Christmas.

Knowing which holidays you want to participate in, it's good to start mapping things out with a promotional calendar. When you set up a promotional calendar, you want to add items such:

  • Dates and times you will update the graphics and banners on your site

  • Dates and times of your promotional email deployment

  • Dates to start and stop advertising for each promotion

Creating a promotional calendar doesn't have to be complicated. It can be as simple as using a printed calendar or an online tool like Google Calendar.

Publish a calendar for shipping deadlines

Create a page or section on your site to let customers know the cut-off for shipping deadlines. Include this in your email campaign to promote sales before the cut-off period.

Achieve your Holiday Sales goals with VinesOS.

The Power of Digital Wallets and Mobile Checkout: Why It's a Must for Modern Businesses

Today's customers expect convenience at every turn, especially when it comes to how they pay. An advanced checkout experience with an integrated mobile wallet isn't just a nice feature anymore; it's a competitive advantage. Whether you're in retail, hospitality, or e-commerce, mobile checkout transforms how customers interact with your brand and how efficiently your business operates.

Increased Sales & Conversions

Speed an simplicity drive sales. When checkout feels effortless, customers are far less likely to abandon their carts and far more likely to make spontaneous purchases. Mobile wallet options like Apple Pay and Google Pay remove the biggest roadblocks to conversion: manual data entry and security concerns. The result? Higher conversion rates, happier customers, and a measurable lift in revenue.

This streamlined experience mirrors the ease of your in-person checkout, giving customers the consistency and convenience they crave. Preparing Your Winery for Holiday Success

The holiday season is one of the busiest times of the year for wineries. Customers are looking for the perfect gifts, stocking up on their favorite bottles, and attending festive gatherings where wine is often at the center. For wineries, it's also a time when operations can become complex and demand increased attention both in the tasting room and online.

At VinesOS, we understand the unique challenges wineries face this time of year. Here are a few key things to consider as you prepare for a successful holiday season:

1. Plan your Promotions

Holidays are prime time for promotions, but managing discounts and member benefits can get tricky. That's why flexible coupon tools are so important. Look for solutions that allow you to:

  • Stack discounts or override member pricing when needed
  • Run special holiday offers without disrupting your existing loyalty programs
  • Encourage repeat purchases with timed or exclusive promotions

When done right, promotions not only drive sales but also create excitement and urgency for your customers.

2. Create Easy-to-Buy Gift Options

Shoppers want convenience, especially during the holiday rush. Offering ready-to-go bundles or curated gift packs (such as duo or trio bottle sets) makes it simple for customers to purchase without overthinking. Additionally, gift cards and gift memberships are excellent ways to attract new customers to your winery while generating revenue upfront.

3. Manage Inventory in Real Time

Nothing disrupts a customer experience like overselling. Real-time inventory tracking across both POS and eCommerce ensures your stock is always accurate. This not only helps you avoid awkward backorders but also provides confidence to your team when recommending wines to guests.

4. Streamline Shipping and Returns

Shipping can make or break the holiday buying experience. Having the ability to create labels directly in your POS saves valuable time. And when returns or exchanges come up, as they inevitably do, features like easy re-shipping, applying re-shipping fees, and managing replacements in a single workflow will help you maintain customer trust while reducing operational stress.

UPS Access Points can also be a game-changer during the busy holiday season. Since customers may not be home to receive wine shipments, offering pickup at nearby UPS locations provides flexibility for them and helps reduce returns for your winery.

5. Deliver a Seamless Customer Experience

At the end of the day, holiday success comes down to one thing: happy customers. Whether they're shopping in person, browsing online, or sending a gift, providing a smooth, personalized experience keeps them coming back long after the season ends.

The holiday season presents a golden opportunity for wineries to grow, deepen customer relationships, and showcase the best of what they have to offer. With the right POS tools, ones that simplify promotions, streamline operations, and enhance the customer journey, you can focus less on logistics and more on making the season memorable for your guests.

Ready to make this holiday season your most successful yet? Contact our team today to schedule a demo and see how VinesOS can help your winery simplify promotions, manage inventory, and streamline shipping - just in time for the holidays.

Bridging AI Innovation with the Human Touch in Software Customer Service

San Jose, CA | December 2024 —  In an age where artificial intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing the way businesses operate, VinesOS is setting itself apart by prioritizing the human touch. While the company leverages AI to enhance efficiency and deliver faster solutions, its customer service approach remains deeply rooted in personalized care.

The VinesOS live chat is a seamless blend of technology and human connection. Whether customers message directly from their Dashboard or use the SMS text option, they are initially directed with AI-driven assistance. The platform intelligently processes questions and suggests helpful articles for immediate resolution. This ensures that many issues can be addressed quickly and efficiently.

But what happens when AI doesn’t provide the answer? VinesOS has a plan. Clients can request human support and assign an urgency level to their inquiry. A direct message is sent to the team for urgent matters so they can prioritize quick replies. For non-urgent questions, a live customer service representative responds usually in less than 30 minutes during regular business hours. And most inquiries are resolved within 24 hours.

AI Help Articles Followed By Team Assistance

Responsiveness

If live chat messaging isn’t resolving the issue promptly, the VinesOS team often picks up the phone to personally connect. This proactive approach ensures that no customer concern is left unresolved and that complex issues are handled clearly and carefully.

“Not only is the VinesOS system reliable and efficient, but the support behind it is fantastic. The system is very flexible, and the support is always patient, friendly, and accurate. They’ve gone out of their way to help us achieve our goals,” says Rick Jones, Owner of Napa Valley Winery Exchange. “Their competition should take note because VinesOS is virtually impossible to beat.”

In a world increasingly dominated by automation, VinesOS is proving that the best customer service combines the speed of AI with the empathy and expertise of a dedicated team.

CEO Jules Robbins remarked, “We believe this enhancement will significantly strengthen relationships and enhance the overall value of your club memberships. At VinesOS, we prioritize client feedback, and this feature has been a top request for many wineries. We’re thrilled to launch it during peak season.”

VinesOS Pairs Creative Loyalty With Innovative Software

SAN JOSE, Calif., (June 3, 2024) - Technology is advancing at the speed of light, no doubt. The past year has been a testament to the rapid evolution, particularly in the realm of artificial intelligence (AI). As we navigate these changes, it's crucial for businesses to not only embrace innovation but to also approach it with creativity and strategy.

Recently, we had the opportunity to speak at the Tasting & Tap Room Expo, where we shared insights on the importance of creative loyalty across multiple generations. We loved having our feet on the ground and it was a huge success! The response from wineries, breweries, and distilleries was remarkable, with many businesses eager to explore new approaches to acquiring and retaining customers.

Here are some creative alternatives to traditional clubs that resonated with attendees:

  1. Reward Points with Cash Value: By offering reward points that have cash value and can be applied toward future purchases, businesses can incentivize repeat visits and purchases while providing immediate gratification to their customers.

  2. Subscription Services: In today's fast-paced world, convenience is key. Subscription-based models, offering repeat scheduled deliveries, allow customers to "set it and forget it," ensuring a steady stream of revenue for businesses while providing convenience and peace of mind to customers.

  3. Annual Fee-Based Options: For customers who seek exclusive perks and benefits, annual fee-based options can be highly appealing. By paying a flat fee for the year, customers gain access to special member benefits such as discounts, unlimited shipping, exclusive events, and personalized experiences, fostering a sense of belonging and exclusivity.

  4. Customer Choice Clubs: One size does not fit all when it comes to customer preferences. By offering customer choice clubs, businesses can cater to unique tastes and preferences, allowing the customer to select the products and experiences that resonate most with them. This not only increases customer satisfaction but also strengthens loyalty by demonstrating that their preferences are valued and respected.

As businesses strive to adapt to the ever-changing landscape of technology and consumer preferences, it's essential to stay informed and agile. A recent article in Newsweek highlighted our progress as a modern software platform, showcasing our commitment to innovation and customer-centric solutions. How can we help you keep up?

San Jose, CA | March 13, 2024— In a strategic move to help wineries build customer loyalty, VinesOS proudly announces the introduction of its highly anticipated rewards program. With the new program, merchants can reward customers with points for every dollar spent. Customers can apply their earned points toward future purchases.

VinesOS Spearheads the Future of Wine Engagement

Winery software that seamlessly links the art of storytelling with effective sales strategies.

SAN JOSE, Calif., (February 13, 2024) - The wine industry has kicked off the new year with many publications and organizations promoting the importance of a brand story to connect with the modern consumer. Wine America has released a campaign to focus on the 'Magic of Wine,' with regular contributions emphasizing the enchanting aspects of the industry. Jim Trezise, President of Wine America, encourages wineries to broadcast the magic of wine with a heightened focus on the narrative behind each bottle. This campaign addresses concerns over effectively marketing to younger generations and consumers shifting to alternative categories or abstaining.

VinesOS has strategically partnered with wineries in the last year whose modern approach to engaging with consumers reaches multiple generations. From Napa Valley, Olivia Brion bonds with consumers by sharing uplifting stories highlighting trailblazing women. Her unique approach has recently been acknowledged as a “Hot Brand” in Wine Business Monthly.

In Tin City, Paso Robles, the newly opened Ultima Tulie represents a love for exploring nature and living life with purpose. Owner/winemaker Cameron Stoffel highlights the importance of VinesOS as a support system for growing his highly acclaimed brand, “I'm not sure if opening our very first brick and mortar or partnering with VinesOS was more exciting. They both go hand in hand”.

Online Features to Support Storytelling

‍In 2024, VinesOS is poised to support wineries in refining their storytelling sales strategy, recognizing the growing consumer desire for a meaningful connection to wine. VinesOS facilitates direct-to-consumer (DTC) sales, particularly online, through user-friendly filters conveniently located on the left sidebar of the shop page. Wineries can showcase crucial aspects of their brand that resonate with consumers, creating custom filters with tags such as 'Sustainable,' 'Low-Alcohol,' 'Winemaker Favorites,' and more.

While the browsing experience should undoubtedly be seamless, the most crucial part of the customer journey is at the point of purchase. At this stage, the story and brand image have been conveyed. The winery eagerly hopes to connect with the consumer continuously and obtain repeat purchases. VinesOS has a fast and easy checkout cart designed to promote loyalty. A convenient "Join Club" button is included in the online checkout for a frictionless experience. Additionally, VinesOS offers clients the option to promote traditional clubs (with a set frequency, cost, and quantity) and creative loyalty programs like subscriptions and annual fee-based programs for flexibility with consumer preferences.

Tasting Room Features to Connect in-Person

VinesOS provides valuable customer insights on the Point-of-Sale (POS) system for in-person interactions, accessible to every staff member. Within the customer profile, staff can see a customer’s favorite wines and a list of recommended wines based on their purchase history. This feature allows wineries to tailor their stories and wine offerings to individual interests, recognizing that today's consumers, across all generations, seek a personal connection with the wines they choose.

Every wine button on the POS has a heart icon for staff members to tap to view similar wines. Staff members are encouraged to continue the narrative and increase every consumer's connection with the brand.

VinesOS also provides readily available QR codes for each wine. Whether the tasting room is bustling with activity or the bottle is enjoyed at home, consumers can quickly scan the QR code to explore more about the vineyards, winemaking, and wine profile.

Cameron Stoffel adds to the importance of VinesOS in the launch of their new tasting room, ”VinesOS has proven integral to the successful launch of our new Ultima Tulie Tasting Room, enhancing daily operations with its user-friendly POS interface and quick access to reports and product settings. The responsiveness and support from the VinesOS team have been exceptional. Their willingness to adapt and implement enhancements aligns well with Ultima Tulie's evolving needs as we continue to grow and scale our business. They care about us, and we are proud to use their software”.

In the current competitive environment, enhancing engagement and establishing brand equity holds greater significance than ever. Wineries adopting a storytelling approach to elevate feelings of familiarity, regard, meaning, and uniqueness for consumers stand an excellent chance to capture the attention of the 90% of consumers who make decisions based on these powerful emotions. Jules Robbins, CEO of VinesOS, underlines the software platform’s dedication to artisan wineries, "In 2023, VinesOS expanded with notable wineries in emerging markets. We aligned with passionate winemakers who produce great wine and focus on how wine can stimulate a deeper human connection. We prioritize developing software features that support them in cultivating sales driven by their incredible stories.”

VinesOS helps wineries adapt to the evolving industry, providing a user-friendly platform for building and maintaining strong connections with consumers, both online and in person.

Is The New Cal Recycle Bill Over Your Head?

New legislation can be complicated. We've covered the basics on Cal Recycle's newest bill so you can prepare for the changes in the new year.

Wine Sold in California Will Be Impacted Next Year

The California wine industry is preparing for a significant change set to roll out in January 2024. With sustainability at the forefront of consumer and industry concerns, California has taken a bold step by implementing a new recycling bill that will substantially impact wineries across the state. SB 1013 was approved by Governor Gavin Newsome in 2023. The bill brings wine and distilled spirits into the California Beverage Container Recycling Program (BCRP) starting January 1, 2024.

Understanding the New Cal Recycling Bill

The primary objective of the Beverage Container Recycling Program is to attain an 80% recycling rate for aluminum, glass, plastic, and bimetal beverage containers sold within California, thereby diminishing the prevalence of littered beverage containers in the state. Starting in January 2024, wineries will be responsible for redemption payments on bottles sold. These redemption payment proceeds are then placed into the California Beverage Container Recycling Fund (Fund). This Fund distributes disbursements to consumers through California Refund Value (CRV) when they return empty beverage containers to officially certified recycling centers.

What Fees Can Wineries Expect for E-Commerce, Club, and POS Sales in California?

The fees are currently $0.05/container if less than 24 oz. $0.10/container for 24 oz or more. For the wine industry, this translates to paying $0.05 for 355ml cans and 375 ml bottles and $0.10 for 750ml and magnum bottles sold in California. Interestingly, passing along part or all of the CRV fees to customers is optional. If wineries choose to charge customers for the fee, it must be shown as a separate line item, and sales tax must also be paid on the fee.

Important Dates to Keep in Mind

January 1, 2024 - Wineries need to register with Cal Recycle. They need to collect and keep track of number of bottles, cans, etc. sold in California.

March 1, 2024 - Wineries must start reporting those sales and paying CRV to Cal Recycle.

July 1, 2025 - Wineries need to have a label on each bottle referring to CRV.‍

Why Are Online Customers Abandoning You?

Consumers ultimately choose the path of least resistance when buying online. They prefer to purchase with trusted merchants and seek a seamless checkout process; otherwise, you risk losing their business. Focusing your strategies on keeping your most loyal customers will undoubtedly pay off in the long run. Not only are you more likely to consistently sell to existing customers, but your profitability increases as well. In the wine industry, the art of customer retention through clubs has been finely tuned —a pledge of repeat purchases from the same customer, time and time again.

Modern Consumers Seek Modern Commerce

However, for today's modern consumers, the allure of traditional wine clubs has evolved beyond conventional confines. Historically, such clubs were designed to contain specific wine quantities delivered at predetermined intervals for fixed costs. Wineries are now exploring innovative incentives to cultivate and sustain customer loyalty. What, in this current commercial landscape, are the perks that resonate most with consumers?

How Shipping Rates Play a Major Role in Winery eCommerce Success

When a consumer contemplates a doorstep-delivered product, the primary reason they might abandon their shopping cart often boils down to unexpectedly high shipping fees. A UPS study revealed that customers are more than twice as likely to make a purchase from a merchant who offers hassle-free returns and straightforward flat-rate shipping. Customer satisfaction thrives when there are no surprises in the form of shipping costs at checkout.

Loyalty Building Wine Club Strategies

One effective strategy to ensure recurring purchases involves a club structure with an annual fee, primarily designed to include shipping costs. Alternatively, offering flat-rate shipping rates based on club types can be equally compelling. For instance, a top-tier club could feature a lower flat-rate shipping charge as a notable advantage over the others.

The Proof Is In the Pudding

Moersch Hospitality Group, a successful group of wineries in Southwest Michigan, embraced the annual fee concept wholeheartedly a few years ago. Their primary enticement includes shipping for a modest annual fee of $99. They have further sweetened the deal with member privileges, such as VIP event access, preferential pricing, and complimentary tastings. Nevertheless, the focal point unequivocally remains the inclusive shipping component.

Their remarkable success is encapsulated in the words of Jessica Schueneman, Sales Director at Moersch Hospitality Group:

“Vineyard Premier is our move from the traditional wine club to a flexible way to serve our members. Customers get the wines they want when they want them, delivered to their door while saving money. Has it been a success?  We believe so — membership grew 800% in our first year rolling out Vineyard Premier”.

–Jessica Schueneman, Sales Director, Moersch Hospitality Group

Maximizing Customer Loyalty and Sales During the Holiday Season

Once you've engaged your customers, maintaining their loyalty and ensuring a seamless purchasing experience becomes paramount to avoid any last-minute hitches that could impede a sale. Are you ready to take advantage of the peak season to engage consumers with opportunities like Black Friday and  Cyber Monday?  As the holidays approach, a strategic approach to shipping will undoubtedly play a crucial role in converting shoppers into loyal purchasers.
