Introducing–SPICA from Biosystems, an Analyzer Designed in Conjunction with the International Wine IndustryAdmeo is happy to announce the first instrument from Biosystems developed in and together with the wine industry.
First generation SPICAs were installed in late spring of 2021 with a growing and significant user base in California and in the Pacific Northwest.
The modular platform is accommodating now and in the future with the same capacity for reagents and samples as Y15. SPICA is hardware, firmware, and software all in the same instrument allowing for simultaneous connectivity from any PC and/or smart device on the same network or logged in remotely via VPN.
LED light source bank includes measurements at 280nm for phenolics testing according to OIV.
What makes SPICA different for you, the user?
- Designed for and with wineries/winemakers to accommodate the daily QC tasks.
- SPICA’s platform allows for continuing enhancements over time for the user extending the lifetime value.
- LED light source means longer bulb lifetime without need for replacement and expanded testing capabilities like Total Polyphenol Index (TPI) without a kit (280nm-750nm).
Integrated software is intuitive and streamlined allowing for flexibility to rerun tests on individual basis and rapid export to .csv files once completed.
Built in assisted policies (SOP) are adapted to ensure no extra tasks to remember to run with automatic set intervals for running of blanks, calibrations, and quality controls.
Utilizing the same reagents as Y15 in a different bottle shape, SPICA accommodates from box to analyzer without premixing meaning full shelf life till expiration date and further improves on our commitment that you can use every reagent from our kits to the last drop.
What does this mean for you?
- Longer active shelf life till expiry date means less stress, and your dollars take you further – take your time using up the kit!
- All liquid components and no reagent mixing mean an easier and more seamless procedure with less opportunity for unintentional errors or mistakes.
