Located in Napa, the Mumm Blending Expansion project entailed the new construction and expansion to an existing winery facility. Construction operations were required to ensure no disruption to Mumm’s production and bottling operations. To ensure no interruptions, the project required a sharpened approach to scheduling and coordination, workflow sequencing, and flexibility.

• Project Name: Napanook Barrel Storage and Archive Building

• Location: Yountville

• Architect: Bisbee Architecture + Design

Located in Yountville, the Dominus Estate Napanook Barrel Storage and Archive project entailed new construction and expansion to an existing winery facility.  The 6,800sf project applied a design-build delivery approach to expedite design and permit submittal as well as reduce overall project costs.  Comprised of a custom rain screen exterior and unique architectural detailing, the two-story building is an elegant, functional, and economical pre-engineered, insulated metal building. The building contains stainless steel storage tanks, each sized perfectly for different parcels of the vineyard.

GMH Builders is working closely with ColdFlo Mechanical to facilitate refrigeration upgrades at The Ranch Winery. A 6’ thick, monolithic matte slab (300 yards) was constructed to house the new mechanical equipment, while raising these essential facilities out of the floodplain. Work is closely coordinated with Gallo construction management personnel to ensure winery operations were not impacted.

Located in Cotati, Sonoma Distilling Company’s new whisky distillery entailed a conversion of a manufacturing space into a distillery. The project required new geotechnical upgrades, underslab utilities, new sloped slabs with trench drains, and a new 4’ foot thick distilling tank pad, and installation of 10,000-gallon underground containment tank inside existing building, below tank pads. The project required engineered shoring solutions and extensive utility infrastructure improvements both onsite and offsite.
